Oil Mate, EMP to Join Power Stroke® Diesel Ford NCTS Effort
March 14, 2003

DARLINGTON, SC (March 14, 2003) - EMP (Engineered Machined Products, Inc.), announced today
that it has signed on as a major associate sponsor on the No. 29 Power Stroke® Diesel Ford driven by
Terry Cook for the 2003 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, and will feature its' Oil Mate brand
product in all advertising. An advanced oil management system for diesel engines, Oil Mate is a
perfect compliment to the Power Stroke Diesel NASCAR program according to Brian Larche, President
and CEO of EMP. "We're pleased to continue building our relationship with International Truck and
Engine and the Power Stroke Diesel brand through our association with Terry Cook and the No. 29
Power Stroke Diesel Ford team," Larche stated. "As one of the major component suppliers to the Power
Stroke Diesel, we plan to share our patented oil and thermal management products with high
performance enthusiasts and the transportation and aftermarket industries." "International Truck and
Engine has enjoyed a successful relationship with EMP," said Robert Carso, Director of
Communications and Marketing Operations, International Engine Group. "EMP supplies a number of
components for the Power Stroke Diesel engine. The associate sponsorship position EMP is taking with
International and Power Stroke Diesel is a natural extension of a long relationship. Motorsports
marketing provides EMP with a great platform to promote their Oil Mate product to the
marketplace." The Oil Mate™ system significantly extends oil change intervals on diesel engines of
all kinds by removing a small amount of engine oil and blending it with diesel fuel to be burned
during the combustion cycle. The used oil is then replaced with an equal amount of fresh oil from a
make-up tank literally changing the oil while the engine is running and in the process, extending
oil and filter use. Tests on "Big Bore" engines have indicated the Oil Mate system eliminates the
need to change oil up to 525,000 miles (4000 hours) and extends filter life up to 100,000 miles
(1000 hours). The Oil Mate system currently has more than 20,000 units in service, including 600 on
United States Army vehicles, "With its' simple installation, the Oil Mate system has proven to
reduce downtime by significantly extending the interval between oil and filter changes," Larche
noted. Oil Mate is extremely effective in OTR trucks, Off-Highway vehicles, Stationary Gen-Sets,
Marine and Military applications." Power Stroke Diesel entered the NASCAR marketing arena on a
select-event basis in 2001 and accelerated its efforts to full-time status with Cook and the No. 29
K-Automotive Ford in 2002. The association has allowed International Truck and Engine Corporation,
the designer and manufacturer of Power Stroke Diesel for Ford Motor Company, to leverage the overlap
of truck owners and NASCAR fans increasing awareness and sales. Power Stroke Diesel engines are
available in Ford Super Duty Trucks, Vans and Sport Utility Vehicles. Nearly two out of three buyers
of Ford Super Duty pickups choose the Power Stroke Diesel over a standard gas engine, making it the
most popular engine in its class. International produces more than 400,000 diesel engines annually,
for both commercial and personal use markets. "This is a huge boost for the K-Automotive race
team," stated Cook, who steered his Power Stroke Diesel entry to four wins, nine Top-5 and 17 Top-10
finishes in 2002. "We have been very fortunate to have such a great partner in Power Stroke Diesel
and to now add Oil Mate and EMP to our efforts will make our team even better. We had a great year
last year and we're shooting for even better results this year, especially now that we've been able
to add Oil Mate and EMP to our K-Automotive family." For more information about the Oil Mate

Mate Ford will take the green flag for the Craftsman 200 at Darlington (SC) Raceway Friday, March
14, at 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The second of 25 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events this
season will be telecast live on the Speed Channel and broadcast worldwide on more than 350 stations
by MRN Radio. ABOUT ENGINEERED MACHINED PRODUCTS, INC. Engineered Machined Products,
